Mindfulness for Recovery
We host weekly Eight Step Recovery meetings and offer Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery courses
We host Eight Step Recovery meetings every Sunday evening (online) and Monday evening (in-person) for those in addiction recovery and interested in using the eight steps.
(for Zoom follow ‘Find a Meeting’ button).
Please join us whatever addiction you are in recovery from. The meeting explores recovery through the lens of the Buddhist teachings, and Buddhism through the lens of recovery. We usually read from the book Eight Step Recovery – Using The Buddha’s Teaching to Overcome Addiction.
If you are attending twelve-step meetings, this can be your expression of the 11th step and if you aren’t in a twelve-step program, it can be another way to approach your recovery. This is an extra meeting to complement your recovery, whatever that looks like.
If you are a regular at the centre you can ask for Susan Lentern or Caroline de Max for details, or email: carolinedemax@gmail.com
We also run eight week programmes on Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery.
Our centre facilitators
Our MBAR facilitators: (Viryamati, Caroline de Max, Susan Lentern & Amoghavajra) have all attended the MBAR Trainers’ course with Dr Valerie Mason-John (Vimalasara), and those facilitating the Eight Step Meetings are all in recovery.
