Buddhism for Beginners "Next Steps" day

Sunday 25th August 10.30 - 15.30 Buddhism for Beginners "More Next Steps" day for those that have attended Level 1 or 2 or by invitation

This is a special day for those who have already attended the "Buddhism for Beginners" course

This is a chance to meet up, practise, reflect on, and consider where we are and where to go now, studying and practising Buddhism.

We will look directly at our need for supportive conditions to help us develop our ethical and meditation practises

There will be a talk on the sangha -the Triratna order and community- and how it supports (and is supported) people's needs. We will specifically exploring the provision in and around the Ipswich Buddhist Centre


10:30 - 11:30 Led Meditation: Mindfulness of Breathing

11:30 - 12:30 Tea and discussion on 'next steps'.


  • What is it like for a beginner?
  • What do we think we need to grow?
  • How do we think Triratna can help?

12:30 - 13:00 Talk on the Triratna Order and Community, the Sangha. Why it exists, how it works and what it does. Its structures, and how it communicates and its place alongside the Buddha and the Dharma

13:00 - 14:00 Vegan lunch --- Bring something vegan along to share

15:00 - 15:30 Group discussion on Triratna and our personal 'next steps'

15:30 -16:00 Led meditation: Metta Bhavana

16:00 Finish
