Community Action – Buddha Day Appeal

Our local charities need our help!
Our generous Sangha has shown fantastic support for local Charities and here on Buddha Day, what a wonderful occasion to launch our latest appeal to help.

We are asking for specific donations for the Ipswich Family Bank (formerly Suffolk Baby Hub) and Ipswich Outreach (Soup Kitchen).

Below you will find the specific items that are needed by each charity and we would love to hear from you if you are able to donate any of these items. Please note we are unable to collect monetary donations.

Ipswich Family Bank (Formerly Suffolk Baby Hub)

The Ipswich Family Bank provides support for struggling families, babies and children.
Current needs are for:

  • Nappies size 4 and above
  • Tinned potatoes
  • Children’s cereals
  • Toiletries
  • (No Baby Milk this time thanks)


Ipswich Outreach

Ipswich Outreach provides support for people who are hungry and/or homeless in Ipswich. To support the nightly soup kitchen our Centre regularly has collections for this great charity. Please note that due to Covid 19 restrictions, items are limited to individually wrapped items as detailed below.

  • Crisps – multipack and individually wrapped packets
  • Biscuits which are individually wrapped
  • Toiletries for men and women (especially antiperspirant), shower gel
  • Wet wipes
  • Small bottled water
  • Unused men’s underwear
  • Unused socks
  • Toilet roll
  • Disposable razors
  • Shaving cream

If you would like to donate ….

The Community Action Kula and volunteers will be happy to pick up donations from your home or workplace in the week commencing 18th June 2021. Please contact the Community Acton Kula via email at communityaction@ipswichbuddhistcentre.org.uk – please let us know your preferred collection day and location and we will get back to you to confirm. Alternatively we can be contacted via our Slack channel.
