Founders Day Puja

This year our Founder’s Day Puja will be on the day before what would have been Bhante Sangharakshita’s 98th birthday. He founded the Triratna Buddhist Community in 1967, and we can be sure that without him there would be no Ipswich Buddhist Centre, nor would we have any of the activities which Triratna run worldwide.

At this evening we can hear a little about his work and life, and celebrate this with a Sevenfold Puja. At the end there is an option to be in a group photo, and to sign a special book. It’s an inspiring and reflective evening, which we have had each year since 2003.

There is no need to book. Doors open at 7pm. Please arrive in time to start at 7.30pm.

Is this event suitable for me?

This event is suitable for anyone who is familiar with our two principal meditations. If this is your first puja (Buddhist ritual) please arrive in good time and introduce yourself to Dayasara who will explain what to expect.

What should I bring?

Just you! Cushions and chairs for meditation are provided.

Is this event free of charge?

There is no charge for the event however, you may consider this a good opportunity to donate towards the continuation of Bhante’s important work.
