Friends & Newcomers Night
Thursday, May 19th @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
We all experience the Five Hindrances of desire, restlessness and anxiety, doubt, sloth and torpor and anger in our meditation. Different hindrances will appear at different times, and distract us from our mindful state. How do we recognise and work with these hindrances instead of trying to avoid them? Join the Friends Night team to discover how to used Balanced Effort to create balance and equanimity in our meditation and in our lives.
Each week a new topic will be discussed. Over the following weeks discover how to further your meditation practice, and find what hinders you in that practice. Explore with the team stories of the Buddha, and how these stories can be applied to our own lives. Take time to enjoy memories of Sangharakshita – the founder of Triratna Buddhist Order. Join us each week for meditation, refreshments, engaging talks and discussions.
