Mitra Ceremony – on Padmasambhava Day!
Sunday, September 20th @ 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Mitra Ceremonies are amoung the highlights in the Centre’s calendar when the Mitras-to-be make a public declaration of their commitment to follow the teachings of The Buddha within the tradition of the Triratna movement.
This Padmasambhava Day, you are invited to join Fran Biddle as she takes a most important step. There will be much rejoicing, rose petals and cake.
If you are able, please bring a vegan cake to share and celebrate this joyous afternoon.
How to join
This event is held at the Ipswich Buddhist Centre. Doors open shortly before the start of the event.
Your questions
Is this event suitable for me?
Whether you have been coming to the Centre for decades or this will be your first visit you are welcome to join this joyful occasion.
What should I bring?
There is no need to bring anything however, if you can bring vegan cake to share it will be appreciated. Some people bring cards and gifts for the new Mitras.
How accessible is the Buddhist Centre?
The shrine room is upstairs but we do have a lift. The accessible toilet is on the ground floor. We don’t have a hearing loop but it is usually possible to sit close to the speakers if you ask.
