Saturday Intro Session
Saturday, August 20th @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Our Saturday morning sessions will help you learn to meditate, find a meaningful path and apply Buddhist ethics in your life and to current topics in the world?
We teach two Buddhist meditation practices: Mindfulness of Breathing, for developing awareness, integration and clarity of mind; and Mettā Bhāvanā (“development of loving-kindness”), which brings about a gentle but radical transformation of our emotional world.
The classes are open to you whatever your experience of Buddhism and Meditation.

Current theme: The World is Not Enough – navigating the worldly winds
The deep Buddhist perspective is that the World is not Enough. The world is always changing, always moving on, never staying the same. Just when you thought that you had got everything the way you wanted, a curve ball comes in and changes everything. Change is what we can expect from the world.
We can never ‘fix’ the world. But can we find a way to navigate these storms well. The ever-blowing forces in the world are regularly buffeting us, taking us off course. The Buddha talked about pairs of ‘worldly winds’-pleasure and pain, success and failure, status and disgrace, praise and criticism, gain and loss.
Hankering after one, inevitably means we encounter the other. How can we find a deeper fulfilment? This theme on Saturday mornings explores how we can navigate wisely through these storms.
