Saturday Intro Session
Saturday, May 28th @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Would you like to learn to meditate, find a meaningful spiritual path, create an ethical world you would choose to live in? Then come along to our Introductory Sessions and learn about Buddhism and Meditation.
We teach two Buddhist meditation practices: Mindfulness of Breathing, for developing awareness, integration and clarity of mind; and Mettā Bhāvanā (“development of loving-kindness”), which brings about a gentle but radical transformation of our emotional world.
We introduce traditional teachings of the Buddha in a way that is accessible and practical to everyday life in the modern world. Bringing calm and clarity to a bewildering and divided world.
The classes are open to you whatever your experience of Buddhism and Meditation.
Current Theme: Finding joy in difficult times
The Chinese have a saying ‘We live in interesting times.’ A euphemism for living in challenging times. You could say that we live in interesting times at the moment!
It can be difficult to find much joy when life is challenging, but it is there if we know how, and where to find it.
The Buddha talked about skilful and unskilful joy. Unskilful joy had a cost, as well as a benefit to it. Meditation is one way to find skilful joy, there are others. The next few weeks on Saturday morning at the Ipswich Buddhist Centre will explore this theme.
