Women’s Day On Going Forth
With guest speaker Parami
Sunday, August 14th @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
We are delighted to welcome our first guest speaker for our upcoming series of Women’s Day events.
Every three months, we will be welcoming an Order Member who will be leading a day on a Dharma topic.
This month, we will be exploring the Dasadhamma Sutta from the Pali Canon, an ancient text which is still very much relevant for the world today.
We’re going to be exploring what ‘going forth’ means for those of us living in an industrialised world? How do we go forth?
Join Parami and the Women’s Day team to explore this through talks, reflection and discussion.
Please bring a vegan lunch to share and a notebook!
Parami is a wise and humorous teacher, devoted and irreverent, extrovert and thoughtful – a unique and inspiring guide with a lovely Scottish accent!
Over her 40+ years in the Order, Parami has held many official roles in the Triratna Buddhist Order: she was one of our two international Order Convenors, helping promote harmony amongst Order members everywhere.
She has been a centre chair, a co-op manager and she is also a Public Preceptor, holding responsibility for all ordinations around the world, working especially in the Spanish speaking world.
She manages to carry out these roles in the most personable way imaginable – we think you’ll enjoy hearing her take on things.
