International Wesak Day – interfaith event
Thursday, May 23rd @ 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
This interfaith event will mark May’s full moon, which is celebrated internationally as Wesak/Vesak Day.
This is an opportunity for the Sangha to ‘build up’ to Buddha Day, which we will mark with a full festival on Sunday May 26th.
Also, we can welcome people from other Buddhist traditions and other faiths, so on this Thursday afternoon event the theme is ‘Reflection on the Buddha’s Compassion’.
Later on there is a linked event at the University of Suffolk from 5.30pm, called ‘Staging Posts on the Journey of Life’, and there will be more information on this nearer the time.
How to Join
There is no need to book. Just turn up at the Centre a few minutes before the 2pm start.
