Aid families and the homeless this winter by donating essential treats and toiletries from November 11th to November 30th.
Life can be difficult for many, but it can be especially tough during the holidays. And so, this festive season the Community Action kula is helping you to practice open-handed generosity — honouring the second of The Five Precepts.
Through our Christmas Collection, we’ll be gathering essential items for local families, women’s shelters, and the homeless. Every donation you can make, be it large or small, will no doubt bring comfort to those who are enduring hardship.
The Ipswich Family Bank & Women’s Refuge
Your loving generosity will provide a sense of warmth and festivity to families and women facing challenging times. By donating holiday treats and essentials, you’ll be contributing to their overall well-being and happiness.
Items needed for this collection include:
- Sweet & savoury biscuits
- Chocolates
- Christmas puddings
- Women’s toiletries
- Christmas crackers
- Any other festive goodies
Outreach (The Soup Kitchen)
Extend your care and kindness to those who are experiencing homelessness and/or hunger this season. Your generous contribution of essentials and snacks will bring relief and sustenance to individuals who may otherwise go without.
Items we’re looking for:
- Men’s & Women’s toiletries
- Individually wrapped cakes, crisps, or biscuits
How to Donate
Making a difference is easy: Simply bring your chosen items directly to the Centre between November 11th to 30th and we can organise everything from there.
The Community Action Kula and volunteers are also available to collect donations from your home or workplace if needed. Simply contact us via the Slack channel, or by emailing us at the address below with your preferred collection day and location. We’ll arrange the rest.
