Men’s Day on the Tiratana Vandana
Sunday, November 15th @ 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

This photo shows Dayasara at Mill Farm Cottage, the location of the 1978 seminar with Sangharakshita.
Chanting the ‘Tiratana Vandana’ (Salutation to the Three Jewels) is an excellent way to start any day. Nearly 50 years ago Bhante (Sangharakshita) led a weekend seminar to explore its meaning and discuss “some of the important spiritual issues it raises”. It happens that the venue was in Hintlesham, Suffolk, and with him were 4 men he had ordained exactly a year before. Our Men’s Day gives an opportunity to look again at some key points (the seminar transcript is in the Complete Works Volume 15 and via the Free Buddhist Audio link below). We can familiarise ourselves further with these uplifting verses, and echo Bhante’s emphasis on connection with the Three Jewels as the central act of the Buddhist life.
