Parinirvana Day

The Parinirvana Festival Day is our opportunity to mark the end of the Buddha’s earthly existence and an opportunity to reflect on our own experience of impermanence.
If you wish to bring a photograph of a friend or loved one who has died during the recent past, please do and they will be remembered in the puja.

- 10.45 Meaning of Parinirvana
- 11.15 Meditation with a chance to put your photograph on the Shrine
- 11.50 Tea Break
- 12.10 Mahaparinibbana Sutta with Readings and Musical Offering
- 1.15 Lunchtime
- 2.15 Remembering the Recently Deceased
- 3.00 Puja with Vajrasattva Mantra and Readings from Sangharakshita
- 4.00 Finish
How to join
No need to book. Just turn up. Doors open at 10am.

Is this event suitable for me?
This event is suitable for those familiar with our two meditations, The Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana.
Do I need to pay?
These events are offered without charge however we encourage donations on every visit to the Centre. There is a contactless donation system at the Centre or you can donate online using the link above.
Do I need to book?
No. Just turn up. Please bring vegan food to share at lunchtime.
