The Saturday Session
Saturday, January 11th @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
New theme starting 11th January 2025 – ‘Tools for living your life’.
Each morning starts with an introduction to meditation. Then after a tea-break we will explore a theme from the book ‘Tools for living your life’ by Vajragupta.
There will be clear explanations of Buddhist teachings and guidance on how they can enrich our often busy and complex lives – even getting a sense of how deep we can go with them. We will have personal stories, exercises and reflections that can show how to transform our lives. We will also have smaller groups for discussion.
We hope that you can make each session but if that is not possible, come along when you can – each morning will be designed to ‘stand alone’ and be complete in itself.
On Saturday morning we introduce two meditation practices, suitable for those new or returning to meditation. We alternate each week between the two main practices we teach – the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Mettā Bhāvanā (“development of loving-kindness”). These two complementary practices help develop our awareness, resilience and emotional well-being. This is a very practical teaching from the Early Buddhist Tradition. Each morning is suitable to come on a one-off basis and will be complete in itself. Come for the whole set or when you can!
