Summer Sangha Retreat ‘home – Outline Programme
Those who have booked will be sent the Zoom link and a detailed programme a day or so before the retreat.
As on our normal retreats, you are encouraged to participate in as much as you can but there is no obligation.
Friday 17th July
- 6:00pm Special Introductory session for those joining their first Triratna retreat
- 7:000pm Room opens
- 7:30pm Welcome & Introduction
- 8:00pm Short meditation, then dedication and another short meditation
- 9:00pm Announcements and close
Saturday 18th July
- 6:50am Room opens
- 7:00am Introduction to day, ritual & meditation, short break & another meditation
- 8:30am Break for breakfast
- 9:50am Room opens
- 10:00am Talk by Subhuti Introducing the Four Reminders
- 10:50am Tea break
- 11:00am Discussion in breakout rooms followed by plenary
- 12:40pm Meditation
- 1:00pm Lunch – shared lunch in open room so you can chat with others if you like
- 1:30pm Walks, go outdoors. Refresh yourself! Non-screen time
- 5:00pm Room opens
- 5:20pm Meditation (40mins)
- 6:00pm Break for supper – non-screen time
- 7:30pm Room opens
- 8:00pm Puja (Buddhist ritual)
Sunday 19th July
- 6:50am Room opens
- 7:00am Introduction to day, ritual & meditation, short break & another meditation
- 8:30am Break for breakfast – non-screen time
- 9:30am Room opens
- 10:00am Symposium of four short talks
- Carumani – The Precious Opportunity Offered by Life
- Harshaprabha – Death & Impermanence
- Arthapriya – Karma , or the fact that actions have consequences
- Shubha – Dukkha and the disadvantages of samsara
- 11:20am Discussion in breakout rooms
- 12:30pm closing the retreat – intro to Meditation in Park
- 1:00pm Break for lunch
- 2:50pm Room opens
- 3:00pm Meditation in the Park – live from Christchurch Park, Ipswich
