Introduction to Buddhism & Meditation 2 (6 week course)
Tuesday, January 9th @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
‘The threefold path is at the beginning of our very first contact with the dharma“
In Part 1 of this course we focused on the Three Fold Path of Ethics, Meditation and Wisdom.
In Part 2 we begin to further explore Buddhism through the three modes of learning and development ‘Listen, reflect and meditate’.
Over a 6-week period at the Ipswich Buddhist Centre we will use the processes of listening, reflecting and meditating to enhance and deepen our learning and discovery of the Threefold path of Buddhism: Ethics, Mediation and Wisdom.
On alternate weeks we will hear personal talks on the precepts of ethical practice, blissful states of meditation: the Dhyana factors and learn about the 5 Jinas (Buddhas of Wisdom, who each exemplify an aspect of Enlightenment).
Walking meditation will be introduced along with the regular sitting meditations of Metta Bhavana (development of Loving Kindness) and Mindfulness of Breathing.
So come and join Jnanamitra, Pranjakara and the team at Ipswich Buddhist Centre to Listen, reflect and meditate this January and February.
Suitable for all those that have attended the Part 1 Introductory Courses
The course takes place at the Ipswich Buddhist Centre over six Tuesday evenings.
The price for the full course is £70 / (£45 concessions).
The term Buddhism refers to a vast and complex religious and philosophical tradition with a history that stretches over some 2.500 years.
There are many forms of Buddhism but all flow back to and derive from the teachings of the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni whose teachings may be summed up in the Threefold path of Meditation, Ethics and Wisdom.
