Mitra Ceremonies

Mitra Ceremonies are amoung the highlights in our calendar when the Mitras-to-be make a public declaration of their commitment to follow the teachings of The Buddha within the tradition of the Triratna movement.

You are invited to join Peter Edwards, Nick Edwards and Alex Olariu for their special evening.

There will be much rejoicing, rose petals and cake.

If you are able, please bring a vegan cake to share.

This event starts at 7pm so please arrive at the Buddhist Centre a few minutes beforehand if you can. You can also to join via Zoom using the button below.

This event is offered without charge but please remember that our Centre is powered entirely by generosity. You can give cash or tap to give at the Centre or donate now online.

Is this event suitable for me?

Whether you have been coming to the Centre for decades or this will be your first visit you are welcome to join this joyful occassion.

What should I bring?

There is no need to bring anything however, if you can bring vegan cake to share it will be appreciated. Some people bring cards and gifts for the new Mitras.

How accessible is the Buddhist Centre?

The shrine room is upstairs but we do have a lift. The accessible toilet is on the ground floor. We don’t have a hearing loop but it is usually possible to sit close to the speakers if you ask.
