Midweek for Mitras
Wednesday, November 22nd @ 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Midweek is a regular sangha evening for Mitras. It is an opportunity to practice together with meditation, study and ritual.
At the moment we are considering The Triratna Movement’s guiding ethos. This is contained in two important but separate lists, The Six Distinctive Emphases and the Five Pillars. Do you know what they are?
Just to help you, the Six Distinctive Emphases are: 1. An ‘ecumenical’ approach, 2. The centrality of Going for Refuge, 3. A Unified Order, 4. The importance of friendship, 5. The importance of work, 6. The importance of the Arts.
Here is a little background reading.
The format for Midweek for Mitras is normally:
- 7:00pm Arrive
- 7:10pm Meditation
- 7:50pm Tea
- 8:00pm Study
- 9:20pm Wind-up, clear-up and depart
