Summer Sangha Retreat

Friday, June 7th @ 5:00 pm Sunday, June 9th @ 3:00 pm

Love in Action in a Time of War

In these turbulent times, when the world feels overwhelming and conflict seems relentless, it is easy to feel powerless. Yet, the teachings of the Buddha remind us that purposeful action – rooted in compassion – is possible and can bring about profound change.

Join us for a transformative retreat, “Love in Action in a Time of War,” where we will explore how to embody the Buddha’s teachings to make positive change in ourselves, in our relationships with others, and in the world, empowering us to make a difference even in the face of adversity.

Through guided “Loving Kindness” (Metta Bhavana) meditations, teachings, and community discussions, you will learn practical ways to embody being the change you want to see in the world, and take meaningful actions that contribute to a more harmonious world. Whether you are new to Buddhism or a seasoned practitioner, this retreat is a call to awaken your potential to be a beacon of hope and a force for good.

Embrace the power within you to create change. Join us in this compassionate revolution.

Complete beginners welcome, although we do require attendance at two meditation sessions at Ipswich Buddhist Centre before attending the retreat.

Price includes accommodation and all meals. Contact us for payment plans if you are struggling financially.

  • Full price £155
  • Concession Price £100
  • Under35s £100

Your questions

Is this event suitable for me?

If you have been to our Centre before or are familiar with the two meditations (Metta Bhavana & Mindfulness of Breathing) then this event is suitable for you and you are very welcome to attend.

What about food and accommodation?

Vajrasanna is a stunning, modern, purpose-built retreat centre. Rooms are single-sex with two or three people in a room. There are very few single rooms for those with a clear medical need. The food is good, fresh, vegan and plentiful.

What should I bring?

You don’t need much. All bedding is provided and there are meditation mats, cushions and chairs in the shrine room. You may find it helpful to bring a notebook and pen and a watch/clock as we encourage that mobile phones are switched off.
