Buddha Day – in the footsteps of The Buddha
Sunday, May 26th @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Buddha Festival Day celebrates the day that Siddhartha Gautama achieved enlightenment in India 2500 years ago and became the Buddha whose teaching we follow.
This year we explore the life of the Buddha through the important events and significant places in his life in northern India including his birth at Lumbini. His enlightenment at Bodhgaya. His first teaching at Sarnath and his Parinivana at Kusanagara.
Short talks will each be followed by a brief period of meditation. The day will finish with a puja (Buddhist ritual).
Please bring some vegan food to share at lunchtime.
It’s Buddha Day so please bring with you a rupa (Buddha figure) if you have one!
